Hi. It’s been a while, hasn’t it?
I wanted to touch base with everyone and share a little something that includes an invitation, so please read! ❤️
If you’ve followed along for a while, you know I love to create experiences that cultivate genuine connections. I love real encounters where conversation goes deep.
And like many creative people, I throw ideas over to the wall (picture wet spaghetti from a boiling pot of water) to see if they will stick. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t. Sometimes they do work, but for reasons that just seem “right,” I move on.
Well, I’ve been simmering an idea for a while and it’s time for me to toss it to the wall and see if anyone out there is interested.
In September of this year, I have a book coming out. (Yes, it’s finally happening!) The title is “Running Free, Beyond the Girl Box.”
For those of you who followed along last year with an internet version of a book, this is a very different animal. More me. More us. More uplifting and tons more storytelling. For those of you who connect with me on social media, this book feels like how I write over there—familiar, southern, funny, and honest.
The book takes a look back at the expectations, barriers, transformations and messages, both the limiting and expansive ones, I (and so many women) grew up with and weaves in how these experiences showed up later in my professional career (GOTR for example), my parenting, my sex life, my physical, emotional and mental health…basically how these experiences shaped the woman I’ve become today (with more room for shaping, always.)
There’s a lot of really great food for thought and I wonder if any women out there, might want to help me pilot a ten-week/once per week program that would include reading the book a couple of chapters at a time, participating in some experiential activities based on each chapter, and finishing out each of our times together with some provocative and deep reflection.
The point of this would be to connect with each other AND to connect with ourselves in ways that we may have forgotten or actually never done.
If this sounds like something you’re interested in, please email me at molly@mollybarkerspeaks.com. We could do this by zoom AND, I also think it would be great to create a cohort right here in Charlotte, if enough folks signed up.
The experience will be positive, transformative, and uplifting while also challenging us to look at some of the hard things of life, how we’ve coped with those, and ways we can grow and support each other in a safe and brave circle of women.
I’ll be checking in more frequently over here on my website, so expect more communication from me in your inbox. I really appreciate everyone for sticking with me and the spaghetti ideas I toss into the world every once in a a while.
This is going to be something really special. ❤️
